One to One Instruction begins with conversation, formative assessment with manipulatives and entry points for all grade and age appropriate inquiry, as well as a regular feedback loop to parents and teachers as requested. Hour sessions for grades K-12; Targeted test prep; curricular review; remedial instruction.
Often, school aged students learn best in PAIRS (for example, girlfriends in the same class who want to review and learn together in a partnership.) For this service, a consultation with parents begins our work to coordinate a plan, followed by an initial meeting with the pair of students to coordinate goals and regular learning time. Each family pays $75, or half of the full $150 hourly rate per session.
The gathering of larger groups of learners (from 4-10 students) often makes for the most varied learning opportunities. From Rube Goldberg machines to fully differentiated group projects on numeracy for the youngest learners and scalable model designs for the older sets, learning pods is an affordable and incredibly engaging way for children to participate as math learners after school is out.
